2 charged in recent Forsyth Co. fires

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have arrested two men in connection with three fires over a four-day period in the Walkertown community.

The first fire occurred on July 24, involving an abandoned house at 5580 Sullivantown Road.  The second fire involved a brush fire in the 4800 block of Salem Road during the evening hours of July 26. The third fire occurred a just after midnight on July 27 in the 3800 block of Old Flatrock Road.

Richard Bartola Brown Jr., 18, of Walkertown and Frank Henry Gerencser, 19, of Kernersville were arrested. Brown has been charged with two counts of intentionally setting fire to grass/brush/wood of another and two counts of burning certain buildings. Gerencser has been charged with two counts of intentionally setting fire to grass/brush/wood of another and one count of burning certain buildings.

Both individuals were released on a written promise to appear in court Aug. 14.
