Police execute 3 search warrants in case of slain NC school counselor

NEWTON, N.C. — A month since a beloved school counselor in Newton was murdered, no arrests have been made.

Maggie Daniels was found dead in her apartment in Newton on Saturday, June 28.

Police have executed three search warrants in the case on Saturday, July 26 — searching an apartment near where she lived.

At least two different people at the complex saw her taking the trash out around lunchtime the day before.

Police still have not released her cause of death.
