PITTSBURGH – A mother battling terminal cancer and her family are headed to North Carolina for their dream vacation, thanks to a non-profit organization.

A Pittsburgh-based non-profit charity called Jamie’s Dream Team worked to raise $10,000 to pay for a private plane to send the family to the Outer Banks.

“Unfortunately, Dana cannot travel by aircraft, commercial aircraft,” said Jamie Holmes with Jamie’s Dream Team. “And she cannot travel by car.”

The gift will also provide spending money for the family and a rental car, according to the non-profit.

All the money was raised by Friday evening and the family will leave for vacation on Saturday, according to KDKA.

Great! Now if someone could convince the NPS to relieve some of the restrictions, she may actually be able to see the Outer Banks!
