FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — A Massachusetts boy battling an inoperable brain tumor had an extra special birthday party on Saturday.

“You can very easily put a card in the mail,” Burlington police Sgt. Gerard McDonough said. “But together as a brotherhood to come and support Danny, it’s a welcome distraction from that fight and puts a smile on their faces.”

Nickerson said all he wanted for his sixth birthday was cards and he has received more than 100,000 of them. His story has attracted international attention. Even Justin Bieber posted a birthday message to Nickerson on social media.

“He’s having an absolute blast with everything,” his father Daniel Jamieson said. “He’s been smiling so much the last few week. It’s been absolutely beautiful.”

Nickerson celebrated his birthday on Friday. Any late birthday cards can be mailed to Danny Nickerson, P.O. Box 212, Foxborough, MA, 02035.
