FAA lifts ban on flights to and from Israel
The FAA has lifted its ban on U.S. airlines flying into and out of Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, the agency announced late Wednesday.
The FAA decided to lift the flight restrictions effective 11:45 p.m.
The ban was lifted after the FAA “carefully reviewed both significant new information and measures the Government of Israel is taking to mitigate potential risks to civil aviation,” according to a statement posted on the agency’s website.
The FAA flight ban was initiated after a rocket struck near the airport Tuesday.
