DURHAM — Police are investigating after a bomb exploded on a public transit bus Tuesday night.
Officials were called to the intersection of West Main and Corcoran Streets around 9:35 p.m. after a jug exploded.
The bus driver told authorities a man got on the bus with the jug and when he got off, the jug exploded. Police say the container was a “Drano Bomb,” according to WTVD.
The driver and a passenger were the only ones on the bus at the time. No one was injured, but the passenger sitting near the explosion was treated at the scene for exposure.
No suspect information is available.
