AP clarifies poorly worded ‘crash lands’ alert referencing plane carrying MH17 bodies

The Associated Press has clarified a poorly worded news alert that went out Wednesday morning that referenced the Dutch military plane carrying bodies from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.

The news alert stated: “BREAKING: Dutch military plane carrying bodies from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash lands in Eindhoven.”

Several minutes later, the Associated Press clarified the news alert: “CLARIFIES: Dutch military plane carrying Malaysia Airlines bodies lands in Eindhoven.”

To add to the confusion, a TransAsia Airways passenger plane crashed on one of Taiwan’s Penghu islands Wednesday. As many as 45 people are feared dead.
