RALEIGH, N.C. — More than 2,000 fans showed up Saturday to watch Grammy-nominated hip hop star J-Cole headline a show in downtown Raleigh.
WTVD-TV reported that the line outside the Lincoln Theater on Cabarrus Street stretched for blocks as Raleigh police set up barricades for the fans.
Tickets went on sale Saturday and only cost $1.
It’s part of Cole’s “Dollar and a Dream” tour where, with little notice, he tweets to his fans that he’s coming to their town.
One Raleigh mom, Anissa Harris, said her daughter found out about the event early and rushed to get in line.
“When he tweets he gives the location of where his tour is going to be and then people come and get in line,” Harris said. “Somehow they found out where he was going to be early on, and she’s been out here around since 7, 8ish, might have been 9 this morning.”
Fans who did not snag a ticket are in luck.
There were so many people that the rap star added a second show.
