Walmart to open neighborhood grocery store in Kernersville on Aug. 1


KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Walmart expects to open its Walmart Neighborhood Market in Kernersville Aug. 1, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

The 41,000-square-foot grocery store is at 1035 Beesons Field Drive. A grand opening ceremony will start at 7:30 a.m. and the store will open its doors at 8 a.m.

Debbie Troy, the store’s manager, said that all 95 employees needed at the location have been hired, but store management is always hiring. She suggested that interested job-seekers apply online at

    The Kernersville Walmart can NOT even keep up with what customers need….one would have thought they would have put one in Walkertown.
