CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said one person was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday in Charlotte.

WSOC-TV reported that it happened Friday night near Wendover and Marvin roads.

Police said the driver of the 2006 Suzuki Vincent Bernard Johnson died at the scene.

Johnson’s motorcycle collided with a 2004 Cadillac driven by Ronald Eugene Hoey, who was not injured, according to police.

Speed could be a factor and the crash is still under investigation, police said.

The road was shut down for several hours.

“I feel sorry for the family,” Tyrone Jones, who lives nearby, said. “No family should have to go through this.”
