LeBron James posted a photo on Instagram on Friday and asked fans: No. 6 or No. 23?
When James announced he was returning to Cleveland, Sports Illustrated showed him in a digitally altered No. 6 jersey. That same day, the No. 6 disappeared.
Since then, rumors have swirled around what number James will wear.
James gave up No. 23 to honor Michael Jordan and in 2009, and called on other players to do the same.
“I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon,” James, who has worn 23 since he was a high school sophomore, told ESPN. “There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn’t Michael Jordan first.
James started wearing No. 6 when he left Cleveland for South Beach.
A poll originally posted on cleveland.com shows that fans want James to go back to No. 23.
