THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Crews responded to a fire at a warehouse containing potentially explosives materials in Thomasville early Friday morning.

Firefighters arrived at Advanced Motorsports Coatings, LLC. just after 5 a.m.

The business is located at 17 High Tech Blvd., Thomasville, and was closed for the evening. The fire was contained to the warehouse behind the business. No one was injured.

Officials say the sprinkler system was activated, which kept the fire contained.

A fire reportedly destroyed the same business 10 years ago -- there was no sprinkler system then.

Officials say the warehouse housed 45-100 gallons of sulfuric acid and three 300-gallon open containers of diluted sulfuric acid.

Emergency Management was called in to assist because of the potentially explosive material inside the warehouse.

The fire was extinguished and crews begin clearing the scene around 7:15 a.m.
