North Carolina named one of the scariest states in America

North Carolina is one of the scariest states in the country, according to recent research.

The real estate search site Estately ranked North Carolina as the sixth scariest state in America.

The website analyzed 15 common fears and figured out how many of each are in each state. The fears included things like clowns, dentists, hurricanes, shark attacks, tornadoes and meth labs.

“Humanity’s worst fears are everywhere in North Carolina, except for dentists, which is odd,” according to the website.

Florida came in at number one, followed by Georgia, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama.

The least scary state was South Dakota, which ranked low on the list for clowns and bears.

Agreed!!! When is the last time you saw a clown walking around. (clowns, dentists, hurricanes, shark attacks, tornadoes and meth labs.) Everyone is afraid of the dentist! You are more likely to get hit by lightening that encounter a true shark attack, I am afraid of torndoes but the last one that REALLY scared me that I was caught in was over 6 years ago. Meth Labs? I dunno… This is ridiculous.

Some people know a lot more than others about this topic…..NC law enforcement can push their way into a 3rd party residence without the homeowner’s permission and WITHOUT obtaining a search warrant either. NC is indeed one of the scariest states in America. Do you also know that NC LAW allows citizens to walk into a NC Magistrates’ Office and take out multiple warrants on another person WITHOUT any evidence of a crime and also without having any sort of investigation being done as well. When this is done and a person is *falsely accused* of whatever charges were brought against them, it starts the *wheels of justice spinning* and lead to not only financial strain on a person, but also mental and emotional stress as well. Law enforcement CAN enter your residence for whatever reason they see fit and they don’t need a search warrant to do so.

Yeah some of that is true only NC has to have a search warrant before they can enter anyone’s personal property “without concent ” from the original owner (without probable Cause) just like any other law system in America

This has nothing to do with the story and it is not true either. It sounds like you were running a drug house or something and got caught.

I am more fearful of going in a Walmart than I am of anything on their list..The general public and society that I see walking around in malls and Walmart scare me lots more..

This list is silly and out of place on a regular news site. It *may* have had some merit if it listed so-called paranormal places in the state and folklore and whatnot.

So now Fox8 gets news from a website with lists like. “Which states are most like a country song” and “Which states are most likely to survive the zombie apocalypse.” Nice. That’s journalism, right there.

I thought maybe the reason NC is scary is the abuse of the social services system. do you know you can have over $100K in the bank and get section 8 housing assistance, meanwhile Randolph county has over 500 children/families waitlisted for day care assistance (this is for parents who actually work to earn a living and need help paying for daycare so they can continue to work), and Guilford county has over 8 thousand food stamp recerts back logged?????

I’d be very interested in seeing some links to information, to back up your statement about having over $100K in the bank and getting Section 8. Please post.

    • GingerMama

That’s not true at all. At least not in Alamance County. Food stamp back logs are correct. I would love to see your proof on section 8 families being allowed to have that kind of money and receive assistance!!!

THE ABOVE COMMENT IS TRUE…COST ME 800bucks for false accusations and mental plus physical anguish… embarrassment and summons served at place of employment ..YOU CAN BE IMPLEMENTED BY ANYBODY ….DOES’NT MATTER IF THEY ARE LIES…PEOPLE SHOULD SERVE TIME FOR HARRASSING A PERSON BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO LIFE…NC IS AMONG THE SCARIEST STATES TO LIVE IN.

I was thinking more along the lines of Old south Tour Company, Katie takes you on a ghost walk in South Port, NC. Check her out on Facebook and online.
