GREENSBORO, N.C. — Emergency personnel responded to a possible drowning on Wednesday in Guilford County.

EMS arrived at the 6000 block of Grinsted Court around 10:15 a.m. where they performed CPR on a 4-year-old boy.

Guilford County Sheriff Col. Randy Powers said there was a party at the home. The child went missing, turned up in the pool and EMS was called. The child slipped from a float and fell into the water, the sheriff’s office said.

Rescue workers administered first aid and the toddler was “alive and alert” when transported to the hospital. The child is expected to make a full recovery.
