WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was arrested after police say he robbed a convenience store armed with a butcher knife Monday.

Police say William S. Hardy Jr., 19, of W. 23rd Street, walked into the Peters Creek BP with a butcher knife and demanded money. He then went behind the counter, pushed the clerk and took the money that was being prepared for deposit, police say.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. and searched the area. They later found Hardy in the parking lot of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church nearby. He was taken into custody for an outstanding probation violation and for the armed robbery of the Peters Creek BP.

The money was later recovered.

A mug shot will not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

The Winston-Salem Police Department requests that anyone with information regarding this crime contact Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.

Of course a mugshot won’t be released. The WSPD doesn’t want to upset local black leaders.

Winston is going down hill fast. Like Greensboro, the town council Of Winston does not focus on their severe crime problem. All they focus on is what will bring money into a small portion of the city and the h*ell with their law abiding citizens.

The city of Winston-Salem needs to sponsor a blade buy-back program, similar to the two gun buy-back events they have already held this year. We all see how good that is working in crime-ridden W-S ;)
