Fayetteville babysitter accused of abusing infant

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 35-year-old woman is charged with severely injuring a 4-month-old child she was babysitting last spring.

Yanin Del Valle was arrested and charged Monday with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.

According to WTVD, Del Valle was babysitting the infant in April when she allegedly hurt the child, causing body fractures, brain injury and retinal hemorrhage.

Del Valle is scheduled to make a first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon from the Cumberland County Detention Center.

She is in jail under a $75,000 bond.

    I don’t know how anybody can hurt a child. The punishment this woman receives will not be enough.

    Seriously? An accident!! She wouldn’t be in jail for an accident. I hope she gets what she done to that baby and way worse!
