GREENSBORO, N.C. – Phil Berger Jr. thanked his supporters Tuesday evening following his loss in the GOP primary runoff for the 6th congressional district to Mark Walker.
Berger added that he hopes all of his supporters will help elect Walker in November.
Walker will face Democrat Laura Fjeld in November.
Tuesday night, following Walkers win, Fjeld called Walker an “extremist” and said all he was focused on was abortion and birth control.
“Why are we talking about birth control? It's 2014,” Fjeld said. “We should be dealing with jobs and the economy and the issues that are the important policy questions facing our state and our nation. We won't get to them with Mark Walker.”
The general election is Nov. 4, 2014.
