BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are looking for a shooter after a couple says three men broke into their home early Monday and fired several shots.

Police responded to 1000 block of Richmond Avenue around 2:05 a.m. where the couple had been sleeping with their children.

The Burlington man said he heard someone tried to break in through the window. When he went out onto the porch to confront the suspects, one of them fired several shots from a firearm.

It was not clear if the shooter fired into the air or at the victim, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The three suspects, including two men and one woman, left the area in a small, white four-door vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Alamance County Crime Stoppers at 229-7100.
