Boyfriend accused of killing Bianca Tanner indicted by grand jury
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The boyfriend of Bianca Tanner was indicted by a Mecklenburg County grand jury last week for her murder, the district attorney’s office confirmed Monday.
Tanner, 31, was last seen alive on June 7 after a fight with her boyfriend Angelo Grayson Smith Jr. at their Charlotte apartment. Smith reported her missing 12 hours later.
Tanner’s 3-year-old son, Jarrod Tanner, told police Smith had beaten his mother before she left, court documents stated.
Smith posted bail and was released July 2, but was taken into custody the next day when Tanner’s remains were found in a wooded area in Charlotte.
