WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Minor injuries were reported after authorities said a woman crashed into a police car early Saturday morning in Winston-Salem.

Police said it happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty and 6th streets.

Two officers were on-duty headed south on Liberty Street in a marked patrol car, according to officials.

A 62-year-old woman was driving a 2014 Mercedes west on 6th Street and failed to yield to the right of way and hit the police car, authorities said.

Police said the crash sent the police car partially onto the sidewalk.

Officials said the officers were taken to Forsyth Medical Center and the driver of the Mercedes was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Everyone involved was treated and released for minor injuries, according to police.

The driver of the Mercedes was cited for failing to yield to the right of way, according to police.
