Family of five escapes house fire in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Crews battled a house fire in Winston-Salem early Friday morning.

The call came in at 3:56 a.m. about a fire at 3672 Cheshire Woods Drive.

Five people were in the house at the time and all escaped safely.

Officials say the fire appears to have started in the attic. No cause has been determined.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area off Reynolda Road.
