Charlotte-bound Amtrak slams into car in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Charlotte-bound Amtrak slammed into a car in Raleigh Thursday evening.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. near Nowell Road off Hillsborough Street.

According to WTVD, the driver in the car jumped out of the way before the Carolinian train hit it.

The train was delayed for about an hour.

There is no word on the condition of the driver of the car. No one on the train was injured.
