RICHMOND, Va. — A 16-year-old boy in Richmond was indicted on murder charges in connection with beating an 8-year-old boy to death, according to WTVR.

Marty Cobb, 8, was beaten to death while trying to save his 12-year-old sister from the teen, who attempted to rape her, on May 1.

A grand jury indicted Mairese Washington Monday on charges of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and strangulation, according to court records.

In June, a judge ruled Washington would be tried as an adult.

    What is this world coming to???? God will certainly take care that little boy who lost his life trying to save his sister. He will certainly see to it that, the teenager who was responsible for his death will be taken care of as well!!!!
