KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- The search for a marine's missing wife in California is hitting home in North Carolina.

It's been nine days since anyone has seen or heard from Erin Corwin. She's been married to Marine Cpl. Jonathan Corwin for about two years. The couple just found out that Erin was three months pregnant.

Jonathan's aunt lives in Kernersville.

"They love one another. You can see the sparkle in their eyes when they are around each other, how much they care for one another. They’re just a magical couple," says Jan Rickett, Jonathan's aunt.

Erin was last seen driving to Joshua Tree National Park near Twentynine Palms, Calif. The park is about 30 minutes from the Corwin's home. Family members say Erin was going to the park to check out hiking trails and good spots for pictures for her and her mom. Erin's mom was planning to visit.

Investigators found Erin's car near the couple's home a few days after she disappeared.

"As the days continue to go on it's getting harder to think that we will see her again," says Rickett.

Homicide investigators have taken the lead on the case and have said there's "suspicious circumstances" surrounding Erin's disappearance.

Rickett knows there's been speculation that her nephew is somehow involved. "I know it in my heart, I know him and I know the love he had and has for Erin and there’s just no way," says Rickett.

Erin turns 20 next week.

Neglected to say if husband is deployed or is cleared of investigation. Was nephew infatuated with her? How exactly is he involved?
