East Bend man arrested for exploitation

YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in connection with exploitation.

Michael Joseph Franciosa, 22, of East Bend, was arrested on July 1 and charged with felony exploitation of a disabled/elderly person.

According to the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office, Franciosa was a trustee for the victim. He allegedly repeatedly took money out of the victim’s account without their approval.

He was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 16.
