Man charged with stabbing Raleigh teen to death
RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing a 16-year-old boy to death at a Fourth of July celebration in downtown Raleigh.
WRAL-TV reported that 20-year-old Jerome Lee Gardner has been charged with murder in connection to the death of Tahje Alexander Mials.
Authorities said it happened around 11 p.m. at South Wilmington and East Cabarrus streets just after fireworks lit up Raleigh’s downtown skyline Friday night.
Police said the victim was taken to WakeMed, where he later died. Police said the killing was not a random act.
