HARKERS ISLAND, N.C. -- Many on Harkers Island, along North Carolina's Crystal Coast, spent the Fourth of July enjoying the blue waters of Atlantic Ocean and also cleaning up quite a mess.

Hurricane Arthur passed right over the island bringing wind gusts of more than 100 mph to nearby Cape Lookout National Seashore.
