One man killed after car crashes into tree in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — One man is dead after a single-vehicle wreck in Greensboro early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. on East Lee Street near Hackett Street.

Lacy Brown III, 42, of Greensboro, was driving a 2003 Ford Expedition west on East Lee Street when he crossed the center median, ran off the side of the road and hit a tree.

Brown died from his injuries.

East Lee Street was closed during the early morning hours but has since reopened.
