CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The boyfriend of missing teacher Bianca Tanner was returned to Charlotte Tuesday morning in police custody.
Angelo Smith is now considered a “person of interest” according to WSOC.
Smith’s bond was set at $100,000 on Tuesday.
Chief Rodney Monroe says Smith is now being considered a person of interest in Tanner’s disappearance and added that Smith did not give investigators any good information and continues to mislead them.
Smith told WSOC that he loves Bianca and loves her child.
Smith waived extradition after facing a judge Monday in Chicago. He was denied bond on Saturday morning.
Federal marshals arrested Smith outside of Chicago on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Tanner disappeared three weeks ago.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is calling her disappearance a homicide investigation.
