ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the armed robbery of an Asheboro business Monday night.

Officers responded to the Lucky Draw, located at 1211 Shana Lane, around 10:40 p.m. in reference to a panic alarm.

Upon arrival, the clerk told officers two white males entered the business, one armed with a handgun and one armed with a long gun, and demanded money.

The suspects were given an undisclosed amount of currency and fled out the back door of the business. A K-9 was deployed but was unable to track the suspects.

Following an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael Allen Gatewood, 20, of Asheboro, for robbery with a dangerous weapon. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police are still trying to identify the second suspect.

Asheboro police asks that anyone who comes in contact with Gatewood or knows the identity of the second suspect call 911.
