SPARTA, Ky. — Brad Keselowski had a good night on Saturday. Then, he felt some ‘pagne’ while celebrating his victory.
Keselowski was dominant during the Quaker State 400, starting from the pole and leading 199 of 267 laps en route to his second victory of the season.
When Keselowski made his way to Victory Lane, things got bloody fast. While celebrating with his crew, he had trouble opening a bottle of champagne and hit the top of the bottle against the trophy stand. The bottle shattered in his hands, gashing his right hand.
Keselowski was taken to the infield care center for attention where he required four stitches in his right hand.
“We were playing around with some champagne bottles and as I told my good friend, ‘We should have stuck with some beer,’” Keselowski said after leaving the infield care center. “We were having too much fun with champagne and one of the bottles broke and I cut my hand open. It’s no big deal.”
