Pedestrian struck by vehicle May 27 dies from injuries

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Winston-Salem on May 27 has died from his injuries, according to officials.

Wayne Donald Fulk, 72, of Winston-Salem, died June 25 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center due to complications from his injuries.

Officers responded to the accident on May 27 on East Clemmonsville Road near U.S. 52 where Fulk had been hit by a 2000 Mercedes Benz. Fulk was walking north across Clemmonsville Road when he was hit.

The driver of the Mercedes, Harold Dean Howard, 77, of Westfield was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
