Missing Pitt Co. girl safe, father turns himself in to Fuquay-Varina police

UPDATE 7:30 p.m. — An AMBER Alert has been canceled for 2-year-old London Exum from Grifton, Pitt County.

Police say London’s father, 27-year-old Devine Dashawn Exum, turned himself in to police Thursday evening in Fuquay-Varina.

GRIFTON, N.C. — An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 2-year-old girl from Pitt County.

Authorities are looking for 2-year-old London Exum. She is believed to be with Devine Dashawn Exum. Devine Dashawn Exum is described as a 27-year-old black, male, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

The two are believed to be traveling in a blue 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis with the NC license tag number CER-3691.

Devine Exum stabbed his ex-girlfriend and kidnapped his daughter, London, Thursday morning, WTVD reports.

Police say Exum stabbed his ex-girlfriend just after 11 a.m. at the River Walk Apartments. Exum then kidnapped the couple’s daughter.

WCTI reports the woman is expected to recover.
