Body found in wooded area of Winston-Salem tentatively identified by police

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Detectives have tentatively identified a body that was found in a wooded area of Winston-Salem on Tuesday evening.

Police said the body was found on Willard Road near Interstate 40 around 5 p.m. The victim has been tentatively identified as a Latino male but his name has not been released.

Authorities say the man died during the commission of a crime that began in Wilkes County.

The investigation is in its early stages and no other information is available.
