Crystal Brandi Fox has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Donald Watson Sr.

DURHAM, N.C. — A woman already in a North Carolina prison was indicted Tuesday in the brutal murder of a 74-year-old retired Durham firefighter.

WTVD-TV reported that Donald Watson Sr. was found murdered in his Durham home in the 4400 block of Regis Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. on July 9, 2012. An autopsy listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

Tuesday, a grand jury indicted 41-year-old Crystal Brandi Fox on a first-degree murder charge. She is currently incarcerated for possession/distribution of methamphetamine.

“We are extremely grateful. We’ve been waiting for this day ever since Donnie’s murder. We still have to go through a trial in Durham. We don’t know all the specifics,” said Ricky Robinson, Donnie Watson’s Relative, in reaction to the news.
