Fire burns three cars, motorcycle in downtown Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Authorities are investigating after three cars and a motorcycle went up in flames early Tuesday morning in downtown Winston-Salem.

Officials said the fire was reported just before 1:30 a.m. at the parking lot of Gray Court Apartments along Fifth Street.

Authorities said the fire did not spread to the apartments. The vehicles involved were damaged. No injuries were reported.

Officials are investigating a cause of the fire and have not said whether or not it is believed to have been suspicious.

      Vandalism/arson more like it. Just look at what happened in downtown (riot) and Davidson County (three arsons) last week with all the teens out of school for the summer…..that’s where police should be searching first.

    Odd, another news source said it was “an electrical wiring problem”. I live at this apartment complex, just feet away from the 3 story fireball that occurred and melted 3 cars. The car had been parked and turned off for several hours, as well as the cars around it. How often does a car randomly catch fire? Glad no one is hurt. Gave us all quite a scare last night though.
