GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A crowdfunding page has been set up to raise money to help in the search for a missing Guilford County Schools teacher.
Bianca Richardson Tanner, 31, was last seen in Charlotte on June 8. Police are now investigating her case as a homicide.
The crowdfunding page at GoFundMe.com is seeking to raise $10,000.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department also is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
“The family would like to add to that amount in the hopes that someone will come forward with additional information about Bianca’s whereabouts,” a statement on website reads.
So far, $1,635 has been raised.
Tanner was hired by Guilford County Schools in 2004 and was working at Reedy Fork Elementary School at the time of her disappearance. She had recently gotten an apartment with her boyfriend in Charlotte.
According to a search warrant, Tanner’s 3-year-old son told police that her boyfriend, Angelo Smith, had abused her.
