Meth lab discovered in Hickory woods behind church

HICKORY, N.C. — Police in Hickory discovered a meth lab in some woods behind a church Tuesday morning.

WSOC reported that a tip led investigators to search behind the Free Oil Ministries on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard.

Undercover narcotics officers and the SBI went into the woods where authorities say they found a small lab.

David Allen Jennings, 44, is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

Officers said a large number of homeless camp in that area of Hickory.
