GRAHAM, N.C. — The former owner of an Alamance County funeral home pleaded guilty Thursday to embezzling funds from the business.

The Burlington Times-News reported that Larry Brandon Williams, 27, of Graham, was accused of embezzling nearly $1,500 from Williams Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington.

The customer complained she paid for a pre-need service contract but never got the corresponding legal documents.

Williams reportedly ran his business until state regulators revoked his license in March.

Williams pleaded guilty and as a first offender was placed on probation for a year. He has since repaid the woman.
