RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters put out a fire at an abandoned building in Randolph County for the second time this year on Sunday morning.

The fire was reported shortly after 1:30 a.m. at 2808 Beeson Farm Road in Sophia. No injuries were reported, but the front of the building suffered minor damage.

Seven firetrucks from Guil-Rand and Sophia departments responded to the blaze and had it out within about five minutes, according to Capt.  Shane Sample of Guil-Rand Fire Department.

A cause of the fire has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.

The same location was burned back in March. In that incident, four other fires were reported within 12 miles of each other and officials called it “very suspicious.”
