ROCK HILL, S.C. — A woman was arrested after police say she shoplifted at Walmart Thursday then fled from security while dragging two small children through the store.

Amber Baker, 29, is charged with shoplifting and unlawful neglect of a child.

The Rock Hill Herald reported that an employee at Walmart noticed Baker take a steam cleaner out of the box, into her purse and put the empty box back on the shelf.

When a loss prevention officer tried to stop the woman, she fled with her kids through a fire door in the pharmacy area. Two of the children lost their shoes and one of them fell.

In addition to the steam cleaner, Baker is accused of stealing over $275 in merchandise, including children’s clothes, greeting cards and wrapping paper.
