WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Hobby Lobby store is headed to the Hanes Mall Boulevard area after the City-County Planning Board unanimously approved the project on Thursday at its monthly meeting.

Pavilion Winston-Salem LLC requested a 55,000-square-foot store on 7.6 acres at 3775 Oxford Station Way, off Hanes Mall Boulevard. The project is the second phase of a 21.59-acre site that was rezoned to general business — special use in 2013 and will not have to go before the Winston-Salem City Council. The store will be built near the Ashley Furniture store.

Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., based in Oklahoma City, Okla. has 567 stores across the country, according to the company’s website. The chain offers more than 67,000 crafting and home-décor products. Its other affiliated companies include Mardel and Hemispheres.
