Ramseur man arrested for trafficking meth, larceny

RAMSEUR, N.C. — Police have arrested a man in connection with drug violations as well as larceny and possession of stolen goods.

A search of a residence in the 4700 block of Log Cabin Road on Monday resulted in the discovery of a utility trailer reported stolen out of Chatham County and an ATV reported stolen out of Moore County.

Detectives returned to the residence on Tuesday and discovered two motorcycles reported stolen out of Randolph County, and uncovered precursor chemicals and components used for manufacturing methamphetamine. Approximately 385 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

As a result of these findings, John Anthony Gardner Jr., 39, of Ramseur, was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession/distribution of precursor chemicals, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen goods and felony larceny.

Gardner was placed under an $80,000 secured bond.
