June’s full moon, known as the “Strawberry Moon” coincides with Friday the 13th this year.

To be precise, the moon will be full at 12:11 a.m. Friday, so essentially Thursday night, but will still be plenty bright on Friday evening as well.

The name “Strawberry Moon” comes from the fact that it is strawberry season, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

This month’s moon is also sometimes known as the “Honey Moon” due to the fact that it can have a slightly gold tint, according to EarthSky.org.
