Deputies seize rifle, grenade from man firing shots in Rockingham Co.
EDEN, N.C. — Rockingham County deputies have seized a rifle and grenade from a man accused of firing gunshots at a home in Eden.
Robert Simeon Barham allegedly fired gunshots at 901 Moir Mill Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting into a fight with his sister’s boyfriend.
Deputies said they arrested the suspect shortly after responding to the incident. Authorities said deputies seized an SKS rifle and flack-style jacked with a grenade attached to it.
The Greensboro Police Department’s bomb squad determined that the grenade was non-functioning, according to deputies.
The suspect faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and simple assault. He was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $2,500 secured bond and has court planned for July 9th.
