Woman killed in Randolph Co. wreck identified

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The woman killed in a vehicle crash on Zoo Parkway in Asheboro Monday afternoon has been identified.

Asheboro Police identified the woman as Fay Auman Jordan, 67, of 246 Vancroft St., Asheboro.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. on Zoo Parkway near Rockcliff Terrace.

Jordan was driving south on Zoo Parkway in a 2007 Toyota Camry when she crossed the center line striking a DOT dump truck head on.

The dump truck was being driven by Randy Lee Corder, 48, of Seagrove. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Jordan was taken to Randolph Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Zoo Parkway was closed for about five hours Monday while crews worked.

The wreck is under investigation.
