Man stuck in empty airport overnight ‘all by himself’ makes Celine Dion music video — and it’s perfect

Richard Dunn, of Canton, Georgia, found himself stuck at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas overnight.

So naturally, he took the opportunity to film a music video.

Dunn spent all night recording himself lip-syncing Celine Dion’s version of “All By Myself.”

Dunn works as a lighting designer for corporate entertainment, according to CBC News.

According to CBC News, Dunn was offered vouchers to be bumped off two consecutive Delta Air Lines flights leaving him “all by himself”until 6 a.m. the next day.

“I thought, well I don’t have enough time to go to a hotel so what do I do? I’ve got my phone and an empty movie set, let’s see what trouble I can get into,” Dunn said.

Dunn Googled songs about being alone and found “All By Myself.” He waited until about 2 a.m. and then went to work.

He asked an airport mechanic for some tape and used it to secure his iPhone to a ruler. He then sandwiched the pole between his luggage bags and took his “tripod” around the terminal to film the various shots.

The video has been watched over two million times on Vimeo.

Except that the McCarran airport is open 24 hours a day, and if he was truly alone, who held the iphone?

Did you not read the text? A homemade “tripod” made up by some tape, a stick and his luggage hold his iphone…

I’m surprised he wasn’t gunned down by the TSA for “Questionable Use of an Airport.”

Personally in my opinion this is fake and a silly publicity stunt. I have never ever seen a airport that empty on a night, and also who is filming him, esp when the camera is tracking along the floor :P.

You haven’t been to McCarran at these hours, have you? I had a flight get very delayed and arrived at 11PM, Vegas time. I’ve got a couple of blurry pics (settings on my phone were set to “night” so everything got shaky) but basically the only people there were those like me arriving on a late night flight. The long escalators are at the D Gates, which is where I arrived and yes indeed, you’ll find that area pretty lonely at those hours, I’d guess it’d be deserted at 2am.

Martin – not a publicity stunt. The guy was on GMA this morning. He rigged his iphone with some tape and made a tripod. When it looks like he is moving it is actually the tripod on the moving sidewalks. And as far as the airport goes – McCarron Airport in Vegas closes from midnight – 6:00 a.m. – I’ve been there so yes the airport is completely empty. He said today it took 2-3 hours to film and about 4 hours to edit.

Everyone needs to read! “He asked an airport mechanic for some tape and used it to secure his iPhone to a ruler. He then sandwiched the pole between his luggage bags and took his “tripod” around the terminal to film the various shots.” Those putting him down are just jealous they didn’t think of it. LOL! Great job!

just one question…… how does his camera zoom in and out and move if he’s all alone and not holding it?

I totally loved this. This guy is very creative. It’s nice to see something that is funny & lift your spirits. As for people who thought it was stupid, it’s like ever thing we see on the internet. It sparks interest in some ……leaves others bewildered.

Not buying it. Too slick, too contrived. Pole between his legs? Yeah right. Another let’s make a viral youtube video. Whatever

@TD. Quote “He asked an airport mechanic for some tape and used it to secure his iPhone to a ruler. He then sandwiched the pole between his luggage bags and took his “tripod” around the terminal to film the various shots.” Please READ! He never said “Pole between his legs.”!

Eric Carmen’s version would have been better, since he’s a guy, but I really loved it! Way to go! It’s was awesome!
