Man beaten, robbed of $3 in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are looking for suspects who got away with $3 during a robbery Saturday, resulting in the victim lying injured on the ground overnight until he was found the next day.

According to the News and Record, the 59-year-old man, was walking near the Wilco/Hess gas station on East Webb Avenue between 7 and 8 p.m. when he was approached by three men.

They demanded money and punched him in the face and head before fleeing with approximately $3.

The victim crawled to an area behind Davis Street United Methodist Church, and was found by a friend early the next morning.

The man was taken to the hospital and treated for fractures in his face.
