Man entered Burlington home through unlocked window, sexually assaulted woman in shower

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington woman was sexually assaulted Sunday evening by a man who entered the home through an unlocked window while she was in the shower, according to Burlington Police.

Officers responded to a reported breaking and entering at the victim’s home on Sunday evening.

The victim told police she was in the shower when a man entered the home through an unlocked window. The suspect assaulted the victim while she was in the shower, police said.

The victim was able to get away from the suspect and ran to a neighbor’s house for help. She told police she did not know the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8″ to 5’10,” 130-150 lbs., 18-23 years old, a close hair cut in the style approximately 1/2 inch in length and a full beard. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with red, green and yellow stripes, black pants and black shoes.

The victim was not injured during the attack, police said.
