1 killed in crash on Zoo Parkway near Asheboro

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — One person was killed in a car accident on Zoo Parkway near Asheboro Monday afternoon, according to police.

The accident happened on Zoo Parkway near Rockcliff Terrace.

A Toyota Camry traveling southbound crossed the center line and struck a Department of Transportation dump truck traveling northbound head-on.

Zoo Parkway was closed in both directions around 3:30 p.m. and is expected to reopen at 6:15 p.m., according to DOT.

    I was headed to the Dr, My appt was at 2:30pm and they were already detouring traffic. I came home abit before 5 and still the detour. I wondered what was going on then! So sorry for all involved and prayers for peace and comforting.
